Draft Grade — Dolphins

FutureB
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Dolphins. Nobody had Sawyer Robertson this high, and it is not close. The Dolphins reached 56 spots to get him at No. 149. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Lew value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Mansoor Delane
In No. 11 they get a press-man option on the boundary. Need was not the driver here.
Pick43
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
A tidy bit of business in Round 2, Pick 11, where Dillon Thieneman graded well above the range. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick75
Rnd3
Connor Lew
Connor Lew at the Round 3 slot is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick87
Rnd3
Austin Barber
No drama and no debate, Austin Barber went about where he belonged in the 87th overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick95
Rnd3
Jude Bowry
Jude Bowry at the 95th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It fills a real need, too.
Pick111
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Bryce Lance. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick149
Rnd5
Sawyer Robertson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Sawyer Robertson this early at the 149th overall pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick227
Rnd7
Thaddeus Dixon
A slide stopped in pick 227, with Thaddeus Dixon worth more than the price. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
