Draft Grade — Rams
Overall C+
ValueF NeedB TradesA+ FutureC+
Quarterback settled, Beck in the fold, and a C+ for the Rams.

Boards are made to be trusted, and the Rams shredded theirs for PJ Williams. He came off 204 spots early, and the room will hear about it.

However the rest shakes out, Taaffe at that price is a win they earned. So much rides on Carson Beck that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

Hit on Carson Beck and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Carson Beck
In pick No. 13 they get the face of the franchise, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Pick61 Rnd2 Seth McGowan
A big swing on Seth McGowan at the Round 2 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick93 Rnd3 PJ Williams
They left a pile of value on the table to take PJ Williams this early at slot 93. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick167 Rnd5 Chandler Rivers
Chandler Rivers at the 167th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick205 Rnd6 Toriano Pride Jr.
Toriano Pride Jr. in No. 205 is fair value, right on his grade. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick208 Rnd6 Dane Key
Dane Key at Round 6, Pick 29 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick232 Rnd7 Oscar Delp
Taking Oscar Delp in Round 7, Pick 16 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick250 Rnd7 Josh Cuevas
They did well to land Josh Cuevas in pick 250, just ahead of his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick256 Rnd7 Michael Taaffe
Michael Taaffe in pick No. 256 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
