Bernard should have been long gone. The Rams pounced, and earned a C+.

You could see the war room lean forward. Germie Bernard at pick No. 208 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.

If Van Dyke pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

If Drew Shelton and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
