The Chiefs looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Mitchell Melton at the 9th pick regardless, 309 picks early. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

The Mateer steal is the beam this whole class leans on. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. The Dontayvion Wicks pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with tight end chief among the fixes.
