The Bengals let Singleton Jr. fall into their laps, and walked away with a D.

You could see the war room lean forward. Eric Singleton Jr. at the 252nd pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
