The Patriots banked a tidy surplus when Joe Royer lasted to the 131st pick, a few spots past his grade. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Kelly pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
