Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Jaguars: B-.

The Austin Barber selection is the head-turner. The Jaguars reached 40 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

The Dixon steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They will answer for taking edge rusher early while interior defensive lineman, linebacker and other spots went begging.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick56 Rnd2 Austin Barber
Austin Barber in the 56th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick81 Rnd3 Ja'Kobi Lane
They paid a round early for Ja'Kobi Lane in pick 81, more than the board wanted. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jaishawn Barham
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jaishawn Barham this early at Round 3, Pick 24. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick100 Rnd3 Keyron Crawford
A curious use of No. 100. Interior defensive lineman, linebacker and other spots needed the pick; an edge rusher in Keyron Crawford did not.
Pick124 Rnd4 Bishop Fitzgerald
A slide stopped in the Round 4 slot, with Bishop Fitzgerald worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick162 Rnd5 Tanner Koziol
A clean, defensible pick in slot 162 with a little surplus value in Tanner Koziol. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick164 Rnd5 Jalen Farmer
Fair-plus on Jalen Farmer, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick233 Rnd7 Noah Whittington
Noah Whittington in pick 233 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It fills a real need, too.
Pick245 Rnd7 Thaddeus Dixon
They will replay Thaddeus Dixon at the Round 7 slot for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
