The Bears let Howell fall into their laps, and walked away with a C.

Somebody in pick 241 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while Cashius Howell, the No. 24 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Law has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.
