Emeritus DRAFTING FOR THEBengals
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedA-

FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Bengals. The Tim Keenan III selection is the head-turner. The Bengals reached 46 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Lew at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Mansoor Delane
They paid sticker price for Mansoor Delane in the 10th overall pick, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick41
Rnd2
Olaivavega Ioane
Olaivavega Ioane in the 41st pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick74
Rnd3
Connor Lew
Connor Lew in slot 74 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick109
Rnd4
Tim Keenan III
Tim Keenan III at No. 109 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick189
Rnd6
Bud Clark
Bud Clark at Round 6, Pick 9 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick198
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
They reached a country mile for Trey Zuhn III at the Round 6 slot, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
Pick225
Rnd7
Bear Alexander
Bear Alexander at pick No. 225 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
