The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cowboys reached some 117 spots for Micah Morris, and value like that does not grow back.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
