The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Fernando Mendoza, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

Wheatley at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They are betting Tiernan proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
