Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Browns cashed the board's mistake on Reese: B+.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Browns were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.

If Hemby pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The Reese value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Kadyn Proctor
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get a long-term starter on the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick24 Rnd1 Chris Bell
In pick 24 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick29 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
Arvell Reese in slot 29 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick39 Rnd2 Elijah Sarratt
Elijah Sarratt at pick No. 39 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick70 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy slipping to the 70th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick107 Rnd4 Jack Endries
They read the board right and Jack Endries was the payoff at the 107th overall pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick139 Rnd5 Max Iheanachor
They took Max Iheanachor at par in No. 139, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick144 Rnd5 Drew Allar
Drew Allar slid further than he should have, and slot 144 is lovely value for the quarterback. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick147 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun at pick 147 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick204 Rnd6 De'Zhaun Stribling
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on De'Zhaun Stribling. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick208 Rnd6 Robert Spears-Jennings
Robert Spears-Jennings in the 208th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick248 Rnd7 Roman Hemby
Roman Hemby at Round 7, Pick 32 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
