Darien DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns

Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Browns: B. Every other box got a look, but interior defensive lineman did not. The Browns will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. The bottom line is a respectable B.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Allar. Every board in the league had Campbell lower, and that gap is the story. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Keldric Faulk
In slot 6 they get a disruptor off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick24
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
In the 24th overall pick they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39
Rnd2
Chris Brazzell II
They did well to land Chris Brazzell II in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick70
Rnd3
Taurean York
Taurean York at pick No. 70 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick107
Rnd4
Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch in No. 107 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick139
Rnd5
Jalen Stroman
No drama and no debate, Jalen Stroman went about where he belonged in pick 139. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick144
Rnd5
Drew Allar
A slide stopped in the 144th pick, with Drew Allar worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick147
Rnd5
DJ Campbell
They jumped the gun on DJ Campbell, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick204
Rnd6
Desmond Reid
Desmond Reid at the 204th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. It fills a real need, too.
Pick248
Rnd7
Jaquaize Pettaway
Jaquaize Pettaway in the Round 7 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
