Draft Grade — Browns

FutureA
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Browns and Scott: A-. The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Keionte Scott, the 147th overall pick, roughly 85 picks past where he belonged. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Hecht has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Monroe Freeling
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term starter on the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick24
Rnd1
Sonny Styles
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a green-dot type in the middle at fair value. More want than need.
Pick39
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq in the 39th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick55
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
You do not let a safety like Dillon Thieneman reach slot 55 and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick70
Rnd3
Sam Hecht
Sam Hecht in pick 70 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick86
Rnd3
Treydan Stukes
A straight-up fair deal on Treydan Stukes at pick No. 86, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick107
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
Bryce Lance in No. 107 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick139
Rnd5
Zachariah Branch
Somehow Zachariah Branch was still sitting there in the 139th pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick144
Rnd5
Beau Stephens
They paid sticker price for Beau Stephens in the 144th pick, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick147
Rnd5
Keionte Scott
Steal is underselling it; Keionte Scott at pick No. 147 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick204
Rnd6
Zxavian Harris
They paid up for Zxavian Harris at No. 204 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick248
Rnd7
Nolan Rucci
A reach for Nolan Rucci in slot 248; a little patience would have been rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
