Honimbo DRAFTING FOR THEPackers

Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Packers: B-. The rest of the league had time to spare on Bryce Foster; the Packers did not wait, grabbing him 41 spots ahead at the 201st pick. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
On value alone, Robertson makes the weekend a net positive. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick52
Rnd2
Darrell Jackson Jr.
They took Darrell Jackson Jr. at par in Round 2, Pick 20, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick84
Rnd3
Daylen Everette
Daylen Everette at No. 84 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick120
Rnd4
Sammy Omosigho
This one needs a full-page explanation: Sammy Omosigho in pick No. 120, miles early. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick158
Rnd5
Mike Washington Jr.
Mike Washington Jr. at slot 158 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick201
Rnd6
Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster at the 201st overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick236
Rnd7
Sawyer Robertson
Taking Sawyer Robertson in the Round 7 slot is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick254
Rnd7
Jordan White
A big swing on Jordan White at the 254th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick257
Rnd7
Dijon Johnson
Dijon Johnson in Round 7, Pick 41 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
