Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the 49ers.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Charles Jagusah in No. 91, a good 37 spots before the room expected him. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

That is a quarterback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Caleb Lomu
In the 26th pick they get protection for the quarterback, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick57 Rnd2 Kamari Ramsey
Kamari Ramsey is a better player than slot 57 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick91 Rnd3 Charles Jagusah
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Charles Jagusah well ahead of where he belonged. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick126 Rnd4 Cade Klubnik
Cade Klubnik at the Round 4 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick134 Rnd4 Tacario Davis
They read the board right and Tacario Davis was the payoff at pick 134. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick139 Rnd4 Parker Brailsford
Good price on Parker Brailsford in Round 4, Pick 39, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick140 Rnd4 Jadarian Price
Nothing to complain about; Jadarian Price went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
