The board owed the Steelers one, and it paid up: Carson Beck, the No. 111 name on the board, sitting there at Round 4, Pick 33 like a gift left on the doorstep. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. They are betting Zuhn III proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
