The Raiders drew a line under the quarterback search with Mendoza: D-.

Nobody else had Eric Gentry anywhere near the Round 7 slot. The Raiders did, by 130 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Fernando Mendoza gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

That is a quarterback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.

In slot 4 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
