Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesF FutureC+
The Packers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D-.

The Packers spent real capital to be 77 picks early on Thor Griffith, and the board is going to hold them to it. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

The Starks value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Shavon Revel Jr.
In pick 23 they get a potential shutdown corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick59 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
A safety of that caliber at Round 2, Pick 27 is the definition of value, full stop. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick87 Rnd3 Danny Stutsman
No drama and no debate, Danny Stutsman went about where he belonged in slot 87. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick91 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo at the 91st pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. The roster fit checks out.
Pick124 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton is a better player than No. 124 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick129 Rnd4 O'Donnell Fortune
O'Donnell Fortune at the Round 4 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick136 Rnd4 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in pick No. 136 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick159 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
A clean, defensible pick in the 159th overall pick with a little surplus value in Bhayshul Tuten. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick198 Rnd6 Hayden Conner
They talked themselves into Hayden Conner at the 198th pick, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick237 Rnd7 Thor Griffith
Thor Griffith at Round 7, Pick 21 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick250 Rnd7 Hunter Wohler
They went early on Hunter Wohler in slot 250, and the value did not follow. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
