cman2025 DRAFTING FOR THECardinals
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
B-
ValueC
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Cardinals a B-. If confidence were a draft strategy, the Cardinals would have aced it. Howard Cross III at the 78th overall pick is 80 spots clear of where he belonged.
However the rest shakes out, McCord at that price is a win they earned. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Wyatt Milum
In the Round 1 slot they get a cornerstone up front, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick47
Rnd2
Jalon Walker
They barely believed it either: Jalon Walker still on the board at the 47th overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick78
Rnd3
Howard Cross III
Value said wait; Howard Cross III in the 78th pick says they were not listening. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick114
Rnd4
Tez Johnson
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tez Johnson at Round 4, Pick 13 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick153
Rnd5
Kyle McCord
Kyle McCord in slot 153 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
