The Packers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D. The tape said wait; the Packers did not. Jalen Travis went at the 231st pick, a good 58 picks before the board was ready.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
