LordVittorio DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Seahawks: B. The rest of the league had time to spare on Phillip Webb; the Seahawks did not wait, grabbing him 103 spots ahead at the 223rd pick. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
Reed at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In the Round 1 slot they get a rangy last line of defense. More want than need.
Pick50
Rnd2
Tre Harris
They paid sticker price for Tre Harris in the 50th overall pick, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick52
Rnd2
Aireontae Ersery
Aireontae Ersery in No. 52 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick82
Rnd3
Carson Schwesinger
No edge and no loss on Carson Schwesinger in Round 3, Pick 18; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick85
Rnd3
Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo at pick No. 85 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick92
Rnd3
Tai Felton
Tai Felton at pick 92 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick122
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
A running back of that caliber at pick 122 is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick137
Rnd4
Hollin Pierce
You do not let an offensive lineman like Hollin Pierce reach Round 4, Pick 35 and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick172
Rnd5
Cobee Bryant
Cobee Bryant in the 172nd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jake Briningstool
Jake Briningstool at No. 175 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. It fills a real need, too.
Pick208
Rnd6
CJ West
They jumped the gun on CJ West, taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick223
Rnd7
Phillip Webb
Phillip Webb at the Round 7 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick234
Rnd7
Jaylen Reed
Taking Jaylen Reed in pick No. 234 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
