Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Packers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Barryn Sorrell at the 251st pick is 64 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The Sanker steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Steven Nelson gives the group a proven body among the projects.

On the needs board they went 8 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Mike Green
In slot 31 they get a disruptor off the edge at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
Azareye'h Thomas in Round 2, Pick 22 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick56 Rnd2 Maxwell Hairston
They paid a round early for Maxwell Hairston in the 56th overall pick, more than the board wanted. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick63 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
A straight-up fair deal on Jayden Higgins at No. 63, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jordan Burch
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jordan Burch well ahead of where he belonged. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick87 Rnd3 Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor at the Round 3 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick109 Rnd4 Cody Simon
A real head-scratcher, Cody Simon in the 109th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick124 Rnd4 Darius Alexander
No edge and no loss on Darius Alexander in the 124th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Pick159 Rnd5 Logan Brown
They read the board right and Logan Brown was the payoff at No. 159. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick169 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant in Round 5, Pick 31 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick198 Rnd6 CJ West
A premium they did not need to pay, CJ West a notch or two before his time. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick200 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
A running back of that caliber at pick 200 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick237 Rnd7 Teddye Buchanan
Teddye Buchanan at slot 237 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick250 Rnd7 Jonas Sanker
You do not let a safety like Jonas Sanker reach pick No. 250 and blink. They did not. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick251 Rnd7 Barryn Sorrell
They talked themselves into Barryn Sorrell at Round 7, Pick 35, and the board did not agree. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick257 Rnd7 Brady Cook
They liked Brady Cook enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 257. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
