Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB
Horton should have been long gone. The Packers pounced, and earned a B+.

The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Tory Horton, the No. 110 name on the board, sitting there at No. 160 like a gift left on the doorstep. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.

The Griffith pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Landon Jackson
In the Round 1 slot they get a premier pass rusher. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
Azareye'h Thomas in pick No. 54 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick87 Rnd3 Jordan Burch
Jordan Burch at No. 87 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick90 Rnd3 Jack Bech
You do not let a wide receiver like Jack Bech reach the 90th overall pick and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick95 Rnd3 Jacob Parrish
A real head-scratcher, Jacob Parrish in the 95th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick123 Rnd4 Donovan Jackson
Taking Donovan Jackson in Round 4, Pick 22 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick126 Rnd4 Jared Wilson
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jared Wilson in pick 126, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick160 Rnd5 Tory Horton
Tory Horton at slot 160 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick200 Rnd6 Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley at slot 200 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick239 Rnd7 Nick Martin
A big swing on Nick Martin at the Round 7 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick251 Rnd7 Thor Griffith
Thor Griffith in the 251st pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It fills a real need, too.
