Draft Grade — Packers
Overall C
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Packers won the night they stopped Gordon II from sliding. Grade: C.

When a board-topper like Ollie Gordon II slides to Round 7, Pick 33, you do not overthink it, and the Packers did not. A mixed bag that lands at C.

Every board in the league had Mauigoa lower, and that gap is the story. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

The Packers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

If Shemar Stewart and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Shemar Stewart
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 31, where Shemar Stewart graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick49 Rnd2 Trey Amos
A straight-up fair deal on Trey Amos at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick59 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
They paid sticker price for Azareye'h Thomas in pick 59, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick66 Rnd3 Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins slipping to No. 66 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick87 Rnd3 Jordan Burch
A reach on Jordan Burch in the 87th overall pick; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick123 Rnd4 Jared Wilson
The board had Jared Wilson higher than Round 4, Pick 22, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick127 Rnd4 Cody Simon
A reach for Cody Simon in the 127th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick128 Rnd4 Jordan Phillips
They read the board right and Jordan Phillips was the payoff at slot 128. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick132 Rnd4 Tory Horton
Tory Horton at the Round 4 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick154 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Logan Brown in Round 5, Pick 15 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick160 Rnd5 Jonah Monheim
Jonah Monheim at No. 160 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick200 Rnd6 Jacob Parrish
A big swing on Jacob Parrish at slot 200, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick213 Rnd6 CJ West
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on CJ West. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick239 Rnd7 Jonas Sanker
They will replay Jonas Sanker at pick 239 for years; that is how good the value is. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick243 Rnd7 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. at the 243rd overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick251 Rnd7 Ollie Gordon II
They barely believed it either: Ollie Gordon II still on the board at pick No. 251. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick256 Rnd7 Nohl Williams
This one needs a full-page explanation: Nohl Williams in No. 256, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick257 Rnd7 Francisco Mauigoa
They reached into another round for Francisco Mauigoa, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
