Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
D+
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesF
FutureB
Grand theft in the 237th pick: the Packers steal Henderson and grade out a D+. The Packers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Fred Davis at slot 254 regardless, 118 picks early. The math is unkind, and the D+ follows.
The Henderson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
In pick 23 they get a potential shutdown corner, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
Donovan Ezeiruaku
They reached a country mile for Donovan Ezeiruaku at No. 54, and the board is aghast. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick87
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
They let Jayden Higgins come to them and pounced at pick No. 87. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick122
Rnd4
Jake Majors
A slide stopped in the Round 4 slot, with Jake Majors worth more than the price. It fills a real need, too.
Pick123
Rnd4
Jack Bech
They will replay Jack Bech at the 123rd pick for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick157
Rnd5
Chris Paul Jr.
Chris Paul Jr. at the 157th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick158
Rnd5
Aeneas Peebles
You do not let an interior defensive lineman like Aeneas Peebles reach pick No. 158 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick196
Rnd6
Nohl Williams
They left a pile of value on the table to take Nohl Williams this early at Round 6, Pick 21. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick237
Rnd7
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at the Round 7 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick250
Rnd7
Elijhah Badger
They talked themselves into Elijhah Badger at pick 250, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick251
Rnd7
Garrett Dellinger
A real head-scratcher, Garrett Dellinger in slot 251 is miles ahead of his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick254
Rnd7
Fred Davis
Fred Davis in No. 254 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
