cowboy2112 DRAFTING FOR THEBengals
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall

FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Bengals and Wilson: B. The board owed the Bengals one, and it paid up: Jared Wilson, the No. 108 name on the board, sitting there at the 152nd pick like a gift left on the doorstep. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
In the 17th overall pick they get a run-stuffing presence up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick49
Rnd2
Xavier Watts
Good price on Xavier Watts in Round 2, Pick 17, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick81
Rnd3
Darien Porter
Nothing to complain about; Darien Porter went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick117
Rnd4
Dylan Fairchild
Taking Dylan Fairchild in the 117th pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick152
Rnd5
Jared Wilson
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick 152 is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick191
Rnd6
Bhayshul Tuten
They will replay Bhayshul Tuten at pick No. 191 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
