Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

ValueB

TradesB-
FutureB-
The Packers won the night they stopped Sauls from sliding. Grade: B. You could see the war room lean forward. Ben Sauls at No. 254 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The Williams reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Shavon Revel Jr.
In No. 23 they get a press-man option on the boundary. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick63
Rnd2
Grey Zabel
Grey Zabel at Round 2, Pick 31 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick87
Rnd3
Jalon Walker
Steal is underselling it; Jalon Walker at pick No. 87 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick95
Rnd3
Jack Bech
Jack Bech at the 95th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick122
Rnd4
Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston in pick 122 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick158
Rnd5
Jake Majors
Somehow Jake Majors was still sitting there in slot 158, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick182
Rnd6
Cody Simon
Cody Simon at the Round 6 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick196
Rnd6
Nohl Williams
Nohl Williams at the 196th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick237
Rnd7
Jared Wilson
Taking Jared Wilson in the 237th pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick250
Rnd7
Elijhah Badger
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Elijhah Badger well ahead of where he belonged. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick251
Rnd7
Garrett Dellinger
Garrett Dellinger in the Round 7 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick254
Rnd7
Ben Sauls
Ben Sauls in pick No. 254 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
