Draft Grade — Browns
Overall

FutureB-
The Browns robbed the room for Skattebo. Final grade: B+. When a board-topper like Cam Skattebo slides to slot 256, you do not overthink it, and the Browns did not.
Every board in the league had Howard lower, and that gap is the story. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
The board had Luther Burden III higher than pick No. 33, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick37
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant slid further than he should have, and slot 37 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. The roster fit checks out.
Pick67
Rnd3
Aireontae Ersery
Aireontae Ersery slipping to Round 3, Pick 3 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick73
Rnd3
Will Howard
They reached a country mile for Will Howard at pick 73, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick94
Rnd3
Jihaad Campbell
The board fumbled Jihaad Campbell all the way to No. 94, and they scooped it up. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick102
Rnd4
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at the 102nd overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick163
Rnd5
Quinshon Judkins
Quinshon Judkins in the 163rd pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick177
Rnd6
Luke Kandra
Luke Kandra at the Round 6 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
Pick190
Rnd6
O'Donnell Fortune
They reached into another round for O'Donnell Fortune, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick198
Rnd6
Raheim Sanders
Circle this one: Raheim Sanders at the 198th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick214
Rnd6
Mason Taylor
A tight end of that caliber at No. 214 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick215
Rnd6
Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. at Round 6, Pick 40 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick256
Rnd7
Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in pick 256 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
