The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 115 spots for Tyler Batty, and value like that does not grow back. Put together, it is a D+.

Getting Mondon Jr. where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
