Draft Grade — Packers
Overall C+
ValueA- NeedB- TradesF FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for Singleton: C+.

Call it larceny. Nicholas Singleton sat on the board until the Round 7 slot, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Starks pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher, quarterback and other spots still on the board.

The cost of the Monheim reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Hit on Josh Simmons and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Josh Simmons
In pick 24 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick56 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jalon Walker in Round 2, Pick 24, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick88 Rnd3 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at slot 88 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick89 Rnd3 Malaki Starks
They bypassed pressing needs at edge rusher, quarterback and other spots to take Malaki Starks, a safety that was not the priority.
Pick125 Rnd4 TreVeyon Henderson
Circle this one: TreVeyon Henderson at the 125th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick159 Rnd5 Cody Simon
They robbed the room for Cody Simon here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick199 Rnd6 Jonah Monheim
Jonah Monheim at the 199th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick218 Rnd7 Nicholas Singleton
Somehow Nicholas Singleton was still sitting there in pick No. 218, and they pounced on premier running back value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick237 Rnd7 Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley is a better player than slot 237 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick250 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Garrett Dellinger. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
