Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB FutureC
Quarterback settled, Ward in the fold, and a B- for the Giants.

Start where it matters. The Giants took Cam Ward to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In the 3rd overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Derrick Harmon
Derrick Harmon at slot 34 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick51 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
By-the-book stuff, Azareye'h Thomas at No. 51 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick99 Rnd3 Tez Johnson
They paid sticker price for Tez Johnson in pick No. 99, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick105 Rnd4 Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild at Round 4, Pick 3 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
