Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB+ FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Browns for McCord: B.

Call it larceny. Kyle McCord sat on the board until slot 179, and the Browns did not need to be asked twice. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

Reaching for Leonard left real value on the table behind him. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Armand Membou
In the Round 1 slot they get a building block for the line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick33 Rnd2 Mike Green
Fair-plus on Mike Green, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jordan Burch
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jordan Burch well ahead of where he belonged. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick94 Rnd3 Riley Leonard
A wild overpay on Riley Leonard in Round 3, Pick 30, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick105 Rnd4 Cameron Williams
They robbed the room for Cameron Williams here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick179 Rnd6 Kyle McCord
They barely believed it either: Kyle McCord still on the board at the 179th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick192 Rnd6 Mitchell Evans
Circle this one: Mitchell Evans at the 192nd overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick200 Rnd6 Joshua Gray
Joshua Gray in slot 200 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The roster fit checks out.
Pick216 Rnd6 Alex Mastromanno
They paid a round early for Alex Mastromanno in the 216th overall pick, more than the board wanted. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick219 Rnd7 Jermari Harris
They talked themselves into Jermari Harris at No. 219, and the board did not agree. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick255 Rnd7 Ja'Corey Brooks
Ja'Corey Brooks slipping to the Round 7 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
