Jaybeast17 DRAFTING FOR THEGiants
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
C+
ValueD+
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Giants left with their quarterback, and a C+ to match. They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Trikweze Bridges, 362 picks early at pick 65. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.
They banked enough surplus on Howard to cover a lot of smaller sins. Everything downstream of Shedeur Sanders depends on Shedeur Sanders, and the building knows it. For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.
If Shedeur Sanders and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Shedeur Sanders
In No. 3 they get their guy under center for the next decade, even if it was a touch early. A real need, handled.
Pick34
Rnd2
Shavon Revel Jr.
Shavon Revel Jr. is a better player than slot 34 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick65
Rnd3
Trikweze Bridges
A wild overpay on Trikweze Bridges in Round 3, Pick 1, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick99
Rnd3
Giles Jackson
This one needs a full-page explanation: Giles Jackson in the 99th pick, miles early. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick105
Rnd4
LeQuint Allen
They reached a country mile for LeQuint Allen at the 105th overall pick, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
Pick154
Rnd5
Warren Brinson
They talked themselves into Warren Brinson at the Round 5 slot, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick219
Rnd7
Robbie Ouzts
Robbie Ouzts in the 219th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick246
Rnd7
Will Howard
Will Howard at the 246th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
