Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D
ValueF NeedB TradesF FutureC+
The phones sank the Packers this weekend: D.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Packers did exactly that with Alijah Huzzie in No. 33.

The Jeanty steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Job largely done: cornerback settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Cameron Williams
Cameron Williams at pick No. 23 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick33 Rnd2 Alijah Huzzie
They left a pile of value on the table to take Alijah Huzzie this early at the Round 2 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick87 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
Fair-plus on Andrew Mukuba, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick159 Rnd5 Ashton Jeanty
Ashton Jeanty in No. 159 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick198 Rnd6 Aireontae Ersery
The board fumbled Aireontae Ersery all the way to pick 198, and they scooped it up. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick227 Rnd7 Jackson Woodard
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jackson Woodard well ahead of where he belonged. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick237 Rnd7 Phil Mafah
A slide stopped in No. 237, with Phil Mafah worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
