Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B-
ValueD- NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Jaguars won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B-.

The Jaguars clearly saw something nobody else did in Seth McGowan, taking him 375 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Carter value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In slot 5 they get a load in the middle at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36 Rnd2 Seth McGowan
They reached a country mile for Seth McGowan at the Round 2 slot, and the board is aghast. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick88 Rnd3 Giles Jackson
A wild overpay on Giles Jackson in pick 88, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick107 Rnd4 Barrett Carter
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Barrett Carter at the 107th pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick126 Rnd4 Howard Cross III
Value said wait; Howard Cross III in pick No. 126 says they were not listening. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick142 Rnd5 Jason Marshall Jr.
Jason Marshall Jr. in the 142nd overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick182 Rnd6 Jackson Hawes
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jackson Hawes this early at the Round 6 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick194 Rnd6 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
KeAndre Lambert-Smith in slot 194 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick221 Rnd7 Rayuan Lane III
Rayuan Lane III at pick 221 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
