Jaybeast17 DRAFTING FOR THEVikings
Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall
C+

FutureB-
Larceny in the 187th overall pick lands the Vikings a C+, Rourke and all. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Vikings watched Kurtis Rourke slide 44 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
The Amos pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Hit on Trey Amos and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Trey Amos
In pick No. 24 they get a lockdown presence outside, though the board says they badly overpaid. Need was not the driver here.
Pick97
Rnd3
Jordan James
Jordan James in the Round 3 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick139
Rnd5
Jackson Slater
A reach for Jackson Slater in the 139th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick187
Rnd6
Kurtis Rourke
They will replay Kurtis Rourke at pick 187 for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
