Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Ravens, and a B- to prove it.

The Ravens did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jarquez Hunter fell into pick No. 243.

They will need Roberts to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Josh Simmons
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a long-term starter on the line, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick59 Rnd2 Bradyn Swinson
A straight-up fair deal on Bradyn Swinson at slot 59, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick91 Rnd3 Tre Harris
The board fumbled Tre Harris all the way to pick No. 91, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick129 Rnd4 Elijah Roberts
They reached into another round for Elijah Roberts, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick136 Rnd4 Jared Wilson
They barely believed it either: Jared Wilson still on the board at Round 4, Pick 34. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick176 Rnd5 Trevor Etienne
You do not let a running back like Trevor Etienne reach pick 176 and blink. They did not. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick183 Rnd6 Tyler Baron
Taking Tyler Baron in slot 183 is close to grand larceny; an edge rusher that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick203 Rnd6 Addison West
A premium they did not need to pay, Addison West a notch or two before his time. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick210 Rnd6 Cam Horsley
A wild overpay on Cam Horsley in the 210th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick212 Rnd6 Luke Elzinga
A conviction pick on Luke Elzinga at the 212th overall pick that the board grades a round light. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick243 Rnd7 Jarquez Hunter
Steal is underselling it; Jarquez Hunter at slot 243 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
