Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall C
ValueF NeedB TradesA+ FutureD+
The Ravens worked the phones like thieves and earned a C.

Nobody had Sevion Morrison this high, and it is not close. The Ravens reached 332 spots to get him at No. 92.

The Hairston steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.

The Borregales pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots still on the board. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Hit on Phillip Webb and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Phillip Webb
In the Round 1 slot they get a problem off the edge, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Pick46 Rnd2 Hollin Pierce
Hollin Pierce at slot 46 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick59 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
Tate Ratledge at the 59th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick92 Rnd3 Sevion Morrison
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Sevion Morrison. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick135 Rnd4 Andres Borregales
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Andres Borregales adds a specialist and leaves interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots untouched.
Pick176 Rnd5 Chimere Dike
Somehow Chimere Dike was still sitting there in the 176th pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick183 Rnd6 John Williams
Value said wait; John Williams in the 183rd pick says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick203 Rnd6 Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston in No. 203 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick210 Rnd6 Fadil Diggs
Fadil Diggs at Round 6, Pick 34 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
