Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall

FutureA-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Panthers: B. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Panthers took Khris Bogle at slot 230, roughly 214 spots before his name belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
On value alone, Baron makes the weekend a net positive. That offensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The trade work was a quiet net positive.
It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the offensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In slot 8 they get a weapon on the perimeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick74
Rnd3
Ahmed Hassanein
Ahmed Hassanein at the 74th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick78
Rnd3
Cobee Bryant
A real head-scratcher, Cobee Bryant in the 78th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick114
Rnd4
Oluwafemi Oladejo
They reached into another round for Oluwafemi Oladejo, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick140
Rnd5
Nick Martin
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Nick Martin. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick153
Rnd5
Ethan Downs
Ethan Downs in pick 153 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick163
Rnd5
Jasheen Davis
Jasheen Davis at the 163rd pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick218
Rnd7
Tyler Baron
They barely believed it either: Tyler Baron still on the board at Round 7, Pick 2. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick230
Rnd7
Khris Bogle
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Khris Bogle well ahead of where he belonged. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
