Draft Grade — Packers
Overall C+
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesF FutureA+
The phones sank the Packers this weekend: C+.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Packers did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Williams at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

They are betting Riley proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.

Pick Analysis
Pick54 Rnd2 Kyle Kennard
They reached a country mile for Kyle Kennard at the Round 2 slot, and the board is aghast. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick87 Rnd3 Cameron Williams
The board had Cameron Williams higher than slot 87, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick124 Rnd4 Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley in pick No. 124 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick159 Rnd5 O'Donnell Fortune
O'Donnell Fortune in Round 5, Pick 21 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick198 Rnd6 Jaylen Reed
Jaylen Reed at pick 198 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
