Draft Grade — Patriots

FutureA
The Patriots fleeced the room on the phones and earned a A-. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Caleb Ransaw at Round 5, Pick 6 is 63 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. However the rest shakes out, Hunter at that price is a win they earned.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Armand Membou
In the 14th pick they get a long-term starter on the line. A real need, handled.
Pick38
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
Tyler Booker at No. 38 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick45
Rnd2
Josaiah Stewart
Josaiah Stewart in pick 45 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick69
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
Nice patience on TreVeyon Henderson, who had no business lasting to slot 69. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick77
Rnd3
Isaiah Bond
By-the-book stuff, Isaiah Bond at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick106
Rnd4
Gunnar Helm
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 106, where Gunnar Helm graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
Pick144
Rnd5
Caleb Ransaw
They left a pile of value on the table to take Caleb Ransaw this early at the 144th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick217
Rnd7
Jarquez Hunter
Jarquez Hunter in pick 217 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick220
Rnd7
Ty Hamilton
A real head-scratcher, Ty Hamilton in the 220th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick238
Rnd7
Collin Oliver
Value said wait; Collin Oliver in slot 238 says they were not listening. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
