The Dolphins did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Graham Mertz in the 252nd overall pick, a good 114 spots before the room expected him. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

However the rest shakes out, Paul Jr. at that price is a win they earned. With edge rusher unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
