The Raiders answered their biggest question with Ward. Grade: B.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Cam Ward is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Bassa. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Cam Ward at the 6th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick37 Rnd2 Armand Membou
A tidy bit of business in pick 37, where Armand Membou graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick68 Rnd3 Elic Ayomanor
They let Elic Ayomanor come to them and pounced at slot 68. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick108 Rnd4 Donovan Jackson
Somehow Donovan Jackson was still sitting there in Round 4, Pick 6, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

Circle this one: Lathan Ransom at No. 143 is a fall that decides a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.

You do not let a linebacker like Jeffrey Bassa reach the 180th pick and blink. They did not. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.

Dorian Strong in the Round 6 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
