Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Jaguars for Ferguson: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Jaguars were there to profit. Terrance Ferguson, the No. 113 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 142nd pick.

Buchanan has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Will Johnson
In No. 5 they get a sticky cover corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick36 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori slid further than he should have, and pick 36 is lovely value for the safety. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick70 Rnd3 Cameron Williams
Cameron Williams in pick No. 70 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jordan Phillips
Jordan Phillips in the 88th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick107 Rnd4 Jaylin Noel
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jaylin Noel at the Round 4 slot is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick126 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
Steal is underselling it; Cam Skattebo at slot 126 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick142 Rnd5 Terrance Ferguson
A tight end of that caliber at the 142nd overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick182 Rnd6 Ben Sauls
Somehow Ben Sauls was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 6, and they pounced on premier specialist value. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick194 Rnd6 Joshua Gray
A conviction pick on Joshua Gray at No. 194 that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick221 Rnd7 Teddye Buchanan
Teddye Buchanan in pick 221 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
