The Bears got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D-. If confidence were a draft strategy, the Bears would have aced it. Jared Wilson at the Round 4 slot is 88 spots clear of where he belonged. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The Henderson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The Watts pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at edge rusher and quarterback.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
