Draft Grade — Saints
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Saints found their guy under center in Sanders: B.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Shedeur Sanders is the Saints' quarterback, full stop.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. The cost of the Robinson reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In pick 2 they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
Pick40 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tyleik Williams in pick No. 40. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick71 Rnd3 Tate Ratledge
Tate Ratledge at Round 3, Pick 7 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick112 Rnd4 Chimere Dike
Chimere Dike in No. 112 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick131 Rnd4 Brashard Smith
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Brashard Smith. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick184 Rnd6 Que Robinson
They went early on Que Robinson in the 184th overall pick, and the value did not follow. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick192 Rnd6 Upton Stout
No drama and no debate, Upton Stout went about where he belonged in the 192nd pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick216 Rnd6 Maxen Hook
Maxen Hook at the Round 6 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick248 Rnd7 Mac McWilliams
They took Mac McWilliams at par in No. 248, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
