Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesC FutureB+
The Cardinals robbed the room for McCord. Final grade: B-.

The Cardinals spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Kyle McCord, the No. 121 name on the board, in pick No. 152.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. If Harmon pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Derrick Harmon
In No. 20 they get a disruptive interior force, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick47 Rnd2 Aireontae Ersery
No edge and no loss on Aireontae Ersery in pick No. 47; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick78 Rnd3 Jack Bech
A tidy bit of business in slot 78, where Jack Bech graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick115 Rnd4 Cobee Bryant
A reach for Cobee Bryant in pick 115; a little patience would have been rewarded. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick122 Rnd4 Kobe King
They took Kobe King at par in the 122nd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick152 Rnd5 Kyle McCord
A quarterback of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick225 Rnd7 Luke Lachey
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Luke Lachey in the 225th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
