Jaybeast17 DRAFTING FOR THESteelers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall

A weekend that raised as many questions as it answered. The Steelers get a C+. The tape said wait; the Steelers did not. Jake Smith went at pick No. 156, a good 234 picks before the board was ready. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.
However the rest shakes out, Dart at that price is a win they earned. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Emeka Egbuka
In the 21st pick they get a No. 1 receiver, even if it was a touch early. A real need, handled.
Pick83
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in pick No. 83 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick123
Rnd4
Jalen Travis
A real head-scratcher, Jalen Travis in the 123rd overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick156
Rnd5
Jake Smith
Jake Smith at slot 156 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick185
Rnd6
Jeffrey Bassa
Jeffrey Bassa at pick 185 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick229
Rnd7
Jaxson Dart
You do not let a quarterback like Jaxson Dart reach No. 229 and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
