Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall

A weekend that raised as many questions as it answered. The Commanders get a C-. There is conviction, and then there is this. The Commanders took Phillip Webb a full 326 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
That is a tight end worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Hit on Phillip Webb and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Phillip Webb
In pick No. 29 they get juice off the edge, though the board says they badly overpaid.
Pick61
Rnd2
Cameron Williams
They paid up for Cameron Williams at the 61st overall pick when waiting would have done the job. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick128
Rnd4
Ethan Downs
Ethan Downs at the 128th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick205
Rnd6
Malachi Moore
They barely believed it either: Malachi Moore still on the board at the Round 6 slot. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick245
Rnd7
Mason Taylor
They robbed the room for Mason Taylor here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
